SCHUBERT: 600 LIEDER, Olimpio Cescatti Schubert's Lieder are part of a cultural context that has not only been a testing ground for singers and pianists for almost 200 years, but also represents a true poetic anthology of 18th and 19th-century production. Germans have made it a monument of their culture, and musicology considers it one of the cornerstones of its studies. However, to define this volume as "just" a tool for lovers of Romances for voice and piano is rather limiting.
